FROM OSCAR TO HEAVEN

Art intervention on the access staircases of the Room Mate Óscar rooftop terrace, Madrid.

The project recreated an exuberant Garden of Earthly Delights for the terrace of the Óscar Room Mate Hotel, using a fresh and provocative language.

The inspiration was drawn from its immediate surroundings: the LGBTI neighborhood of Chueca.

Upon arrival, the first image visitors saw was the legs and curves of Eve, which filled the stairs and integrated the window that transformed into a portal to the sky and the rooftops of Madrid as she "gave birth" through the brightness of the space. An homage to women and the eternally blue sky of the city.

On the second flight of stairs, visitors were welcomed by the legs of several Adams, with the handrail strategically positioned where countless hands offered pomegranates instead of apples, the forbidden fruit that led to the fall from paradise.

The pomegranate is an ancient symbol of fertility, abundance, love, and immortality, common across various cultures and religions, representing union and prosperity due to its large number of tightly packed seeds.
Often associated with life, resurrection, and marriage, this fruit is used in traditions to attract wealth and renewal, also symbolizing the connection between the sacred and the earthly.

Wandering through this sensual Eden inhabited by imaginary plants and fruits, the viewer was encouraged to enter the hotel terrace guided by their instinct and open to living experiences that are "beyond good and evil."
