Retro-Taxidermy
Sculpture conceived for the commemorative exhibition of the 125th anniversary of the emblematic whisky brand Glenfiddich.
Time cannot be stopped, but still we try.
RETRO-TAXIDERMY arises from reflection on the human struggle to accept the processes of aging and death.
Made from fresh barley — the main raw material for whisky distillation — the artwork celebrated the passage of time instead of denying it.
A living sculpture that gradually changed from the green color of the freshly harvested plant to the golden, brown, and yellow tones of the dried spikes.
Through a parallel with the whisky maturation process — which acts as a positive factor that gives it value and distinction — the viewer was invited to awaken a more organic perspective over time, embracing the inherent beauty of natural processes.
